I am Rochelle Blakeman, a researcher and budding writer with a regular presence in Country Squire Magazine.
I grew up on a farm in England and have enjoyed reading and writing since I could hold a book and a pen. The beauty, the hardships and the forgotten livelihoods of the British countryside are at the heart of my work, alongside an appreciation for the lessons of history, culture and myth.
If you want to read something that stands up for rural folk and spotlights the real countryside perspective, this is the newsletter for you!
When I’m not working or writing, I can be found taking long walks, chatting with friends or looking after my beloved donkeys. I adore dogs (more than people, of course) and I’m a rock chic at heart. My favourite song lyrics are Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks, my favourite flower is a forget-me-not and my favourite story ever told is Homer’s Odyssey.
Enough about me. Enjoy reading!
If you like my writing, please consider subscribing (for free!) to stay updated on my latest articles.
